Brazil, which already had three chambers for administrative conflict solution involving Internet domains ".br", now counts on an independent arbitration chamber to solve other conflicts of the electronic universe and information technology (IT ), such as electronic scams and blows, unfair competition, violation of privacy, collective purchases, software development, digital media, IT contracts and projects, computer bids, virtual money, intellectual property and virtual consumer law.

CIAMTEC - International Arbitration Chamber and Mediation in Information Technology, e-commerce and communication was established in Brazil in 2013, but only recently initiated its activities. The Chamber acts as an arbitration court, with experts in the law and law applicable to IT, being governed by the Arbitration Law (Federal Law 9.307 / 96).

The states of São Paulo, Goiás, Rio de Janeiro and Paraná already have CIAMTEC coordinating arbitrators, providing the structure required for simultaneous dispute resolution and giving speed to processes with the support of tools such as videoconferencing and distance audiences.

Among the advantages of the arbitration system are the lowest acersity to the parties involved in the litigation and the speed of the controversy solution, in addition to the possibility of mediation of conflicts, avoiding exposure to the judiciary.

Ciamtec goes on to act in Brazil at a strategic moment for the IT market. The Brazilian moment is prosperous, with the continuous emergence of Startups in the area of technology and consequent expansion of the labor market for IT professionals. In addition, with the advent of one of the largest revolutions on the Internet - the new GTLDs (generic top-level domain names, the successors of ".com") -, which enable companies to adopt a website that reflects the name Its marks in a much more attractive and trusted way (examples of this are the ".globo" and ".youtube" gTLDs), there will be inevitable increase in the number of conflicts, especially those involving marking and copyright issues.

In this way, CIAMTEC joins the effort to make conflict resolution involving faster and more reliable domains, with a technical point of view, proposing a broader spectrum than that of the three accredited institutions by CGI.br (ABPI - Brazilian Intellectual Property Association, OMPI - World Intellectual Property Organization and CCBC - Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce).
