The bill n. 60/2014, which expands the scope of the supersimples (simplified taxation regime for micro and small enterprises) to the service sector, was sanctioned earlier this month by President Dilma Rousseff.

With the change, more than 140 segments in the service sector will benefit from the simplified taxation regime, such as medical and dental offices, law firms, realtors, insurance, journalists, among other activities covered.

Early collection exemption from ICMS to some sectors, advantages in public bids, tribute collection through a single rate, reduced tax burden and facilitation in access to credit lines are some of the benefits offered by supersimples.

The expansion of the segments covered by supersimples is an incentive to micro and small enterprises that can provide positive effects on the Brazilian economy, stimulating the formalization of thousands of enterprises and increasing the collection of taxes by the State.
