The Ministry of Labor and Jobs (MTE), published on July 6, 2014, establishes instructions for the temporary employment contract. The highlight of this new concierge is the possibility of extending the temporary contract for more than three months if any of the circumstances constant in the norm.

The extension of the temporary contract for more than ninety days will only be admissible when facts already known on the date of conclusion of the contract with the temporary employee to justify the hiring for more than three months, or when there is a reason that justifies the extension of the temporary employment contract for more than ninety days.

The concierge still establishes that only the new extension will be allowed to last the justifying reason for hiring.

About procedures, the Discipline Standard that the company should request authorizations through the electronic page of the Ministry of Labor and Employment in a minimum advance of five days. The requirements will be analyzed by the State Work Relations section where the temporary worker will provide its services and the decision will be made available on the same electronic system in which the application has been made.

The new concession criteria for the granting of this extension is aimed at increasing the number of formal jobs and enabling regular hiring in those cases where there is a real need for temporary work for a longer period.
